Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born on the 19th of November 1959. For the past 30 years her performance has received applauds on screen and stage. Janney has been honored with several awards, among them an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. She also received Seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Also, there were nominations to win the two Tony Awards. Janney was raised in Dayton, Ohio. She was born and was raised in Boston. Her scholarship allowed her to take classes at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Janney's debut on TV came in 1999. She played C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 to 2006). She received the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the role. Her role on The Showtime Drama Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Janney received two Outstanding Supporting Actress Awards for Comedy Series and was nominated six times for Primetime Emmy Awards.
